Course Reflection

     Going into this class I did not know what to expect. I knew we would talk about St. Augustine and that was where my historical knowledge of Florida ended. Florida is much more than St. Augustine and sun. We have many important historical events and experiences. Florida was an important military base during WW11 and even had its own minute of fame with film making. We are a huge tourist spot and gave been visited by many for our natural and now many man made attractions. When I used to think of Florida I thought of it alone but now I see the bigger picture of Florida and it's part in American history.     We had many great resources to learn about Florida in this class. My favorite was the podcasts. I liked being able to hear about small chunks of Floridas history and taking Cornell notes helped to retain the information. A Land Remembered was a really great book and not only gave a realistic perspective on a time in Florida but also was a really great story...
